Every child is expected to work up to and within his or her own ability and to enjoy doing so.

Children are encouraged to measure their own progress against their own capabilities and past performance. Monthly average grades for effort and attainment give pupils and parents regular feedback on progress. Traditional teaching blended with contemporary techniques leads to consistently high standards at Common Entrance and Scholarship level.

The syllabus is based on the full requirements of Senior School Scholarships, Common Entrance Examinations and the National Curriculum. Work builds progressively into a full range of subjects that grows as a child progresses through the School

Teaching facilities are excellent and extensive, including dedicated teaching rooms, superb science and computing suites, a library, a design technology workshop and a domestic science room. Children love the school’s wholehearted commitment to using and investing in computers and technology as aids to learning – all classrooms are equipped with computer-operated interactive whiteboards and are linked to the internet and the school intranet.

Some of our most worthwhile and creative children can find the written word a specific barrier between themselves and learning. We value and support them with a fully qualified learning support department.
