St. Catherine’s, Bramley near Guildford offers high academic standards, a strong house system and a caring ethos. Pastoral care was singled out for particular praise by the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate. Examination results regularly place us amongst the top schools in the country. In 2005 92% of A levels were graded at A/B with 100% GCSE pass rate A-C. However, this is only part of what makes St. Catherine’s one of the most successful schools in the country. Life here is fun!

The Music Department offers a huge range of instrumental tuition and all tastes are catered for with numerous orchestras, ensembles, rock bands and choirs. Girls enjoy sport at local, regional and national level.
The school day doesn’t end at 4.10pm; very much a boarding as well as a day school, the building is always buzzing so if girls want to stay late after school or parents are held up en route there are always familiar faces and a warm room in which to wait…perhaps even in which to do prep!

Weekly boarding is an increasingly popular option. Girls can participate in the many after-school activities and also complete their prep without the daily commute. They get the best of both worlds, returning home at the weekends when the family can enjoy each other’s company without the pressures of work impinging too much. Year 7 boarders have their own dedicated boarding house with a boarding housemistress and matron who offer extra TLC in that all-important first year.
