Sir William Perkins’s School’s ethos is that students are more likely to achieve academically if they are happy and receive a balanced and rich experience at school. This is why our examination results are consistently high, and our students are young women of whom we are proud. Our last Independent Schools Council (ISC) Inspection praised our pastoral care system and our emphasis on personal development was pronounced “exemplary”. Set in 12 acres of grounds, with easy road and rail accessibility, our facilities befit a 21st Century education whilst underpinned by traditional values. Our success rate in 2005 was as high as ever; 99.5% A* to C grade in our GCSE results, and 49.3% of our A Level passes at A grade; yet we are not an academic “hothouse”. We educate our girls in a caring environment that strikes a balance between the academic and the extra curricular; after-school clubs abound, a huge proportion of the school population participates in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Young Enterprise competitions, expeditions within the UK and visits and exchanges overseas, and still find time to do lessons and homework! Our girls become well-rounded, responsible members of the community who have the self - confidence and life skills to succeed in whatever they wish to do. Visitors to our school consistently remark on their cheerful confidence, and the welcoming atmosphere of the school. Many of our ex-pupils now hold positions of great responsibility in industry, and we have educated some well-known faces in the media industry. Sir William Perkins’s is proud of its pupils and welcomes visitors to come and see the school.
