Frensham Heights is a one-off. We will give you all our literature but to get under the skin of what we are about, and to discover the robust structure behind the informality of which we are justly proud, you need to come and look for yourself. The Arts Council awarded us one of its very first Gold Artsmark thus confirming our pre-eminence as a school in which creative thought permeates the whole curriculum, as does freedom properly understood and correctly used.

Our long-established, well known and well respected Outdoor Education programme (for which, with only a handful of other schools, we are fully licensed) continues to increase in scope. The fact sport is now centre stage has in no way altered our understanding that for some such activity does not come naturally. What matters is the Frensham essential. Doing one’s best and being recognised by all for so doing. What is new is the attitude to coaching and the competitive zeal of the PE staff and their charges.

We are very much a school that’s open all hours. Whether full boarder, sometime boarder, here by day (and maybe opting for breakfast and prep) and whether inside or outside the classroom there is masses going on. For the curious, who might not be catered for in more conventional settings, there is bound to be someone here with whom to share an enthusiasm or idea.
