Epsom College was founded under the royal patronage of Prince Albert in 1853 to educate the sons of doctors. Whilst this medical tradition has been maintained, the school has broadened its educational and professional interests in the succeeding years to embrace all the main academic disciplines for pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds. The College stands within 80 acres of attractive grounds and offers a balanced education to boarding and day pupils, both boys and girls, from 13 to 18 years old. There are around 700 pupils, c.50% of whom are boarders and approximately one-third of whom are girls. Each pupil is placed in either a Boarding or Day House (12 houses: 8 for boys, 4 for girls) with each House run by a Housemaster/Housemistress and a team of tutors.

The College is run within a boarding ethos for all pupils, and the working week is divided between academic, sporting, cultural and social activities, each of which is considered to be as important as the other. Academic standards are high and it is extremely rare for a pupil to leave the Sixth Form without a university place. Our aim is to unlock and promote talents, interests, skills and enthusiasms that will stay with our pupils throughout their lives.

The best foundation for success.
