Cranleigh is a community whose principal aim is to offer all its pupils a range of opportunities to enable them to achieve to the best of their ability within a framework of shared values and standards. The School’s two hundred-acre site, situated eight miles from Guildford on the Surrey-West Sussex border, is part of Cranleigh Village and within 45 minutes of London. The School is fully co-educational, with 200 girls and 400 boys between the ages of 13 and 18, including a Sixth Form of about 240. It is a predominantly local-boarding community that also includes day pupils and boarders with parents overseas. There is a strong and active partnership between parents and the School. Cranleighans are encouraged to relish challenge, to feel they are known as individuals, and to become talented and wise adults with an ability to adapt to a fast-changing world. Part of the School’s style is an easy and informal relationship and mutual respect between Common Room and members of the School (there is a pupil: teacher ratio of 9:1). Cranleighans are, as a result, supportive of each other and at ease with adults.
