Task: following on from work done in class about creating suspense - write the opening for a suspense story with one character in one setting, in only one page in your exercise book. The opening will introduce your character and setting. It will only be an opening and end at the point where you have drawn your reader in to wonder what happens next in your story.
Do not write the whole story - opening only.
Focus: powerful and interesting adjectives used to describe your setting in a way that brings suspense to your opening and draws in your reader. |
