In order to make the school car park work as efficiently as possible we ask all our parents to abide by the following etiquette between the peak times of 8.15 to 9am in the morning and between 3.30 and 4.30pm in the afternoon.
 

 

The school opens for breakfasters at 8 am. All other pupils may be dropped at school from 8.15 onwards until 8.50. The car park is usually free-flowing until 8.30 when it starts to clog up.
 

 

In the afternoon finishing and collection times for pupils are staggered:

Nursery and Reception 3.30
Years 1 and 2 3.40
Years 3 and 4 4.05
Years 5 and 6 4.20
Years 7 and 8 4.30
 

 

In the mornings you should

Kiss and go - drop off your child(ren) in the drop off places and go
Park only if you need to take your child(ren) into school
Park only in marked parking bays
Consider arriving before 8.30 when the drive flows smoothly
Consider dropping older children by St Peter’s church so they can walk

 

 

In the afternoons you should

Collect and go
Park only if you need to go into school to collect your child(ren)
Collect all siblings together only when the last child is ready
Consider telling your child(ren) you will always collect them after 4.30
Consider collecting older child(ren) from St Peter’s church

 

 

At all times you should

Drive slowly with regard to the safety of pedestrians
When on foot use the pavements and designated crossing areas
Stop only in the drop off zones – not on the circulation roadway
Turn left when leaving the school drive

 

 

These guidelines are produced in order to make the car park safer and more efficient for us all. If you do not conform to the code of etiquette you will be handed one of these guides as a polite reminder. In extreme cases we have had to ask serial offenders not to use the school car park.
