For some children sport will unlock confidence and provide the springboard for success elsewhere in their learning. For all children, sport can offer opportunities to develop fitness, social skills, organisational practices and emotional wellbeing. With staff who offer expertise in a wide range of activities, our physical education and sports programme has an exciting mix to offer each child. Children respond positively to encouragement, and with appropriate support at the right time they come to relish taking part in a wide range of sporting activities.

We believe that pupils should experience as many sports as possible and learn to appreciate the necessity to be sporting as well as competitive. We value participation, team spirit and a desire to succeed.

With a growing fixtures list that allows as many children to represent the school as possible, we have a long held reputation as a school with a rich sporting history. Many of our teams and individuals in sports such as cricket, swimming, athletics and biathlon, perform extremely well at a local, regional and national level.

Excellent sports facilities

The indoor swimming pool is a popular facility and in use all year round. Behind the main school building, the spacious sports hall, with its impressive cricket nets, football, netball and basketball facilities, is complemented by a second gymnasium and sports pitches.

Match Day Visitors

We are always delighted to welcome parents to come and watch their children play in sport fixtures here. If you are coming to watch a match we would ask that you leave your dog at home. Toxocara Canis causes blindness in children so we do not allow dogs on our site.
