Matron (Clare Boyd) is situated in the centre of the school, for good reason. She is easily accessible for the children who have the inevitable bumps or grazes that need first aid attention. However Matron’s role is far broader. She is a listening ear for children who have concerns or who just need reassurance. She comforts children in times of trouble and is able to administer prescribed medicines in accordance with the instructions from the pharmacist where necessary. She will arrange for any particular medical needs to be supported throughout the school and will liaise with the catering team if children have any specific dietary needs.

Every school should have a Matron as good as Clare!
